What the heck is this, anyway?

It is a site that calculates what items you can craft in the Valve game Team Fortress 2 for you.

How did it come to be?

Hi, I'm moiph. Welcome to WILL IT CRAFT. After nine years in development, hopefully it will have been worth the wait.

Actualy, it all started in an IRC channel (for The Lions' Den). A fellow by the name of millinao asked if there was a site to see what you could craft based on the current items in your backpack. I decided to search and see for myself if such a site existed, but alas, it did not. At least, it didn't exist yet.

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED

And so my journey to make WILL IT CRAFT began. I used such sites as TF2wiki, TF2Items, and TF2blueprints (to name few) for references (thanks guys!) and began coding. There were no other sites that did this when WILL IT CRAFT launched in the beginning of 2011, but as of today another one has spawned -- TF2Crafting.info. I will continue to maintain WILL IT CRAFT and keep it up to date with the latest items, even if I'm not the only one doing it.
